I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
